STEAM with Whaea DebI

W.A.L.T: Reflect from our STEAM with Whaea Deb, These are the questions I've been asked and some photo's at the end. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. What was I learning and why? I’ve learned how to code, I didn’t know how to even do a simple circuit! Until I came into Whaea Deb’s STEAM group. And now, I can do a simple circuit within a minute! 2. What did I do well and how do I know? I’ve worked well with Caylee because we got the job done. We helped each other, the teacher helped us along with the booklets that have instructions in them. 3. What challenged me ……? Trying to put all the products in the correct space, Which made us struggle badly. We also struggled to figure out what we needed, what we don’t have, and trying to do the code perfectly. 4. What would I do differently next time to make my learning more successful ….. ? I would try to look carefully at the instructions to make it way easier for...

All about me.

My names Jordan, I <3 Husky's. I am 10 years old and My birthday is on March the first. In my family I have two brothers. Their names are Alex and Xavier. They’re twins. They are REALLY annoying. They hide things from me and sometimes slip things into my bag. I’m good at math, Writing and other stuff. My goals are trying to score 100 in my math's. I love hanging out with my friends. In my typing, I'm trying to get as fast as my teachers. Its really hard though. I hope I get 100 (: Its my dream goal. I have never got it in my whole entire life. Also I hope I get as fast as my teachers I’m getting there. Slowly. My handwriting is okay. But Im starting to get better. Im practicing during school. Okay bye!

Rounding And Compensating (Multiplication)

W.A.L.T: Use rounding and compensating for our multiplication, So it could be easier for in the future. (I'm typing in the video, Because it was too loud in the background. 😄😜) In my math's hub which is in Te Kauru Nui, We are learning to use the strategy 'Rounding and Compensating.' But with multiplication questions. One number has to be double digit, Then the other number has to be one digit. (E.g: 72 x 4). Then, You must see if its over 5, or under 6. Over 5 is plus. under 6 is minus. So 72 - 2 = 70. So the new equation is: 70 x 4 = 280. Then you must add the two back on. It can't just be 280 + 2. It needs to be 8. Because 2 x 4 = 8. So 280 + 8 = 288. It's quite simple, Maybe you can try it and show your teacher! Next time, I'm going to try to use more difficult equations
